“Long before the Founding Fathers signed their lives to the bold and daring declaration that created our new nation, a hardy band of immigrants pledged their lives to God and to one another even before they set foot on land.  In this agreement, know as the Mayflower Compact, the Pilgrim Fathers reveal the reason they endured the perilous journey across the Atlantic in hope of founding a new colony-they believed they were on a mission for God, and they earnestly desired to ‘advance the Christian faith.’”

“Their agreement, in part, reads as follows:”

“Having undertaken for the Glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith, a voyage to plant a colony, do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God, and one of another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic.”

I would like to share this article with all of you.  I found it interesting because of the way the United States‘ new government seems to be headed.  Of course the Eastern Hemisphere, Canada and South America  has sure had it’s trouble with socialism, dictatorships and communism.  Even socialism in a small way such as in health care can be a detrimential situation I think.

I am learning as I read and want so much to have the ideas, goals and thoughts of Christ so I look to those who have walked the walk.  Charles Spurgeon, the Prince of Preachers, was one of the get spiritual leaders in his life time.  He preached to 10,000,00 people, often up to 10 times a week in many different places. 

I encourage you to read this article as I feel that we need to be aware of our world so as to aleast know how to pray for it better.

I really want to promote and share this wonderful website.  I have been receiving their email, and enjoying articles and lectures from this site.  I have learned so much about history from a biblical perspective and also current events.  There is so much knowledge and biblical truth shared on this site. 

Gary DeMar is the President, he is a prolific author and lecturer on biblical worldview issues.  He earned his M.Div. at Reformed Theological Seminary in 1979, and his Ph.D. in Christian Intellectual History from Whitefield Theological Seminary in 2007.
